Following his graduation from Harvard and MIT, Marco was a first-round draft pick for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League. He enjoyed a successful CFL career, spanning 7 years, during which he experienced Grey Cup success and received both the Tom Pate Memorial and Jamie Taras awards for his community contributions.
Following his retirement from the CFL, Marco spent 6 years with RBC Dominion Securities as an investment advisor (CSC, WME, CPH and LLQP certified), managing $73 million. He has 10 years venture capital experience, structuring and brokering deals, supporting start-ups and taking companies public on the NASDAQ, TSXV and TSX, securing more than $1.5 billion in financing. Marco has also earnt success as an entrepreneur in the sports, pharmaceutical and real estate sectors.
Marco is an active philanthropist, raising over $13 million as a charity auctioneer, and was awarded Canada’s Sovereign Medal for Volunteers. He was also a winner of CBC’s Canada’s Smartest Person.
